Blackberry Mojitos are a wonderful fusion of blackberry, lime, and mint! 5 minutes and 6 ingredients is all that is needed for this quick and stylish cocktail!
I have to say, being engaged is pretty special. It seems like every other week there is planning going on for some kind of celebration! The night we got engaged we had some champagne with my parents to celebrate. I also had a bridal beauty bash, booked a venue, photographer and DJ, and even tried on wedding gowns =) It is all such a whirlwind but I am in love with all of it.
With all of these little accomplishments and get-togethers, there needs to be great food and drinks to celebrate. And as I do love me a cocktail, I needed to make a simple one to toast these times. Today? Blackberry Mojitos.
These Blackberry Mojitos are so tasty, AND with the warmer weather coming, they are just perfect! The muddled mint, blackberries, and lime combine to make the drink so flavorful and so pretty!
One unique thing about this recipe is that I’ve swapped out the traditional simple syrup (sugar dissolved in water) with Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale. Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale is a special treat because it is a fresh, seasonal drink available only at Ahold stores (like Giant Food) until May. It comes in 2 liter bottles and 12-pack cans, so you can drink a little or a lot! I love it because I love the fruitiness of the blackberries and the tastiness of the ginger. With this in tow, the Blackberry Mojitos are the perfect drink for all my bridal get-togethers! Plus I know my girlfriends love a good mojito 😉
To put this drink together, simply combine blackberries, mint leaves, and lime wedges in a glass.
Muddle them, add in Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale and white rum, stir and serve!
So here’s to my bridal celebrations and every little moment in between!
- 1 lime
- 14 mint leaves
- 10 blackberries
- 2 cups Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale
- 1/2 cup white rum
- Slice lime into 6 wedges. To prepare the first drink, squeeze the juice of one lime wedge into a glass. Then, place another lime wedge in the glass with 7 mint leaves and 5 blackberries. With a muddler or blunt end of a spoon, muddle the fruit and mint. Fill glass 3/4 of the way with ice.
- Next, pour in 1 cup of Canada Dry® Blackberry Ginger Ale and 1/4 cup white rum. Stir gently with a spoon. Repeat in another glass for second mojito. Serve.
- Muddling is a key step in any mojito. Muddling refers to pressing into the mint, blackberries, and lime to release the juices and open up the mint so that the soda and rum can absorb their flavor. There is also no need to strain it as the crushed fruit and mint leaves add great taste and make the drink extra pretty!
