This Cake Batter Milkshake is a smooth and creamy treat for any day of the week! It tastes just like the ones you know from an ice cream shop but is super easy and has only THREE ingredients!
Post #2 in Italy! I’m slowly getting more used to being here and am recognizing the layout of the city that I am staying in more. The town I am staying in is called Gricignano di Aversa and is located outside of Naples, Italy. Gricignano is right next to where Matt’s base is so we can easily get to and from when we need to. It is convenient for him and also allows him to come home on his lunch breaks to eat with me.
The town-home I’m staying in is beautiful and located in a more residential part of the city. A day or so ago Matt took me to the more commercialized part of the city where we got to do a little shopping and had a cappuccino. I must tell you this, I have never been much of a coffee-anything drinker until I have come here. The cappuccinos are so good basically everywhere I have been and are SO cheap. They typically cost around 1 euro! And right now the euro and the dollar are nearly identical in value, so that makes it even better! I will definitely miss that when I go home.
But as I work on getting used to everything around here, I have also been brainstorming ideas for blog posts. I am trying to be efficient and use what we have around the house. One thing we have is cake mix. But I didn’t just want to make an ordinary cake, I wanted to make something special! That is how this milkshake came to be! It is SO EASY and requires only 3 ingredients! That is the perfect, economical post for me!
All you need to do to construct this masterpiece is blend the ingredients together and serve! It is the perfect afternoon snack or after dinner treat. I’ll be having many of these as it gets warmer outside!
Prep time 5 minutes, Serves 2
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup reduced fat milk
- 2/3 cup white or yellow cake mix
- In a blender, combine ingredients.
If you are like me and like a thicker milkshake, put the milkshake in the freezer for a few minutes after it is blended. This will start to freeze the milk in the shake.
Want a presentation like mine? Use honey or corn syrup to rim the tops of your serving glasses. Then press rim in a bowl full of your sprinkles of choice. Coat rims just before serving as honey and syrup tend to run down the glass after standing for awhile.
