Why run to the coffee shop when you could make this Caramel Pumpkin Latte right in your own home? In just 5 minutes you could be enjoying this delicious, fall classic!
Yes, I succumbed to the pressure. I made a Pumpkin Latte for my blog. So basic.
But you know what? Caramel makes it unique, right? Totally. Plus mine is way better, cheaper, and healthier than the one you get at Starbucks. It’s a win-win-win.
I must say, I was never one for coffee until relatively recently. It took me coming to Italy to have coffee where the art is perfected to start enjoying it. And even then, I enjoyed it mostly because of all of the milk, cream, and sugar I can put into it.
After a while I learned to appreciate more the flavor of the coffee itself and the warmth of the mug in my hands. I love the little kick of espresso and the bit of energy it gives me. Plus, I finally fit into the coffee drinking clique. Now I can be one of THOSE people…
With my more recently found taste for coffee, I developed a love for this amazing Caramel Pumpkin Latte. I mean, come on, how good does that look?
Great thing #1 about it: It is significantly healthier than the stuff you get at Starbucks. Like way healthier. You really need to check the calories on those things!
Great thing #3: Talk about amazing! When you cook this latte on the stove, the whole house fills with the sweet scent of nutmeg and pumpkin. Just like my Candied Pecan Pumpkin Muffins, it just smells like fall!
Have I convinced you to try these yet? I’m going to enjoy a second cup myself…
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 to 3 tbs maple syrup
- 1 tbs pumpkin puree
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 2 (1oz) espresso shots
- Whipped Cream
- Caramel Sauce (http://www.goeatandrepeat.com/easy-homemade-caramel-sauce/)
- In a small pot on medium heat, combine milk, syrup, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisking constantly, allow mixture to heat through. Divide espresso evenly between two cups and pour half of milk on top of each espresso shot. Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and sprinkle with additional cinnamon. Serve immediately.
- 1. Whisking the milk quickly will help to froth it before you pour it into your drink.
