Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This Thanksgiving I will actually be in Ireland for a few days! I’ve never been to the land of Ire before but am really excited about it! Right now we are planning on seeing Dublin, Cork and Waterford, as well as a few castles on the way =) As I write this it is pre-trip, so when you read this I will be officially off trekking my way across the Irish countryside!
(PS: I may or may not be listening to Irish folk music as I write this…)
Now don’t worry, I didn’t miss out on Thanksgiving food. I still got to enjoy so much of it during my Friendsgiving this past Sunday! We had the usual turkey, potatoes, rolls, cranberries, stuffing, and mac and cheese. And remember all the anxiety I had over the turkey? Is it done? Is it dry? Why isn’t it getting to the right temperature?
Well I’m proud to report that the turkey was a huge hit! It was actually quite perfect! Not too dry. Not underdone. Just perfectly right. Needless to say I was pretty proud of myself.
In honor of this Thanksgiving, I wanted to share a few photos I took when I was home for Emily’s wedding this October.
My parent’s home in Maryland backs up to a wooded nature reserve. Hilly and quiet, overlooking the reserve was like looking into an impressionist painting. Each tree boasted it’s own proud color, unique from that of those around it. I would look out and see oranges, reds, browns, and greens scattered across the land. It was so beautiful that I couldn’t resist taking my DSLR camera out there and snapping a few shots of the trees.
Here are some snaps from my Fall Photoshoot.
I hope you spend the day enjoying time with your family and friends and indulging in all of that amazing Thanksgiving goodness! And remember, we always have something to be thankful for. Live in the moment and enjoy today =)
