Oh, happy day!
Today Go Eat and Repeat turns 2 years old!
I can’t hardly believe it has been two years.
After leaving a job I hated, I was a bit lost. I decided to get my MBA online so that I could travel back and forth to Italy to visit my then boyfriend, now fiance, Matt. Classes didn’t start for over a month and I had all this spare time to fill. I’d seen food blogs, and loved cooking, so one day I just decided to start my own. It wasn’t all planned out. I didn’t dream of it for years. I had time on my hands and wanted to try it out.
Two years later I can’t believe how far I’ve come. I’ve had the opportunity to work with numerous brands, have had my recipes featured on Buzzfeed and other popular food sharing websites, and I’ve had a lot of fun along the way! I’ve learned A TON about cooking and A TON about blogging.
Who would have ever thought there was so much involved in it?!
My very first post was for an Authentic Bavarian Schnitzel. Still a classic in my house. But I love to look back on that day in my life and think about how I had no idea what adventure awaited me. I love to look back and see how much I have improved since I first started.
It really has been a ton of fun and has turned into something I genuinely love to do. My dream is still to make this my sole source of income one day, but in the meantime I love everything about this crazy blogging life.
To celebrate Go Eat and Repeat turning two today, I decided that I would share with you my top 5 favorite recipes that I’ve ever shared on GEAR. This was TOUGH. It was like trying to choose a favorite child! I hmmed and hawed over it forever! But I think I’ve come up with a list of my all time favorite recipes. Recipes so good I’ve made them dozens of times since making them for GEAR.
So let’s go. In no particular order I have chosen:
Man these are a classic. I love these wings firstly because they are baked. I’m afraid of the deep fryer so I needed to develop a recipe that made the wings so delightfully crispy but also super easy. The second reason I love them is because of old bay. I’m from Maryland, does this one really need more explanation?
This one is tasty. This is one of my favorite dinners out there. This is great because the chicken is so simple to prepare, and it soaks for hours in that delicious garlic marinade. Secondly it’s great because I get to dip all that delicious chicken in tzatziki sauce. What doesn’t taste better with tzatziki?
Nomnomnomnom. That’s really all I can say about these. Soft, garlic and buttery rolls. Chewy, flavorful. Amazing.
I couldn’t have an honest top 5 list if I didn’t include a little sugar. These sticky buns are ADDICTING. Cinnamon and sugar baked onto soft buns and topped with pecans. Gimme gimme!
This pie was the latest to join in on the Go Eat and Repeat game. For years I’d had frozen store-bought pie and was perfectly happy. Then I made this pie and now I can’t go back to store-bought. The peaches and raspberries are just sweet enough to make it a dessert without being overly sweet. The fruit really shines and is perfectly thick and syrupy. Is it summer again yet so I can make this?
Have you tried any of these recipes yet? What have been your favorites from the past two years?
Happy cooking and thanks for making me love cooking even more!
