I had to take a break from the recipes to share with you some photos from my bridal shower this past weekend!
I feel like the whole thing was a blur. I woke up on Saturday morning and couldn’t believe it was here, then I blinked and I’m sitting eating leftovers in the kitchen wondering what had just happened.
My Matron of Honor told me the bridal shower is hectic, and she was so right. I thought I’d have a few drinks, eat some food, chat with my friends, open gifts and just hang out.
No. I didn’t realize all the craziness that came with it! I started greeting people at the door and quickly found myself caught up in talking to all of our guests (many of whom were friends of my mom’s). I would then go into the kitchen to get a drink and as I was getting a drink someone new would come by and ask me about the wedding. The same thing with food. I would go to the table to finally grab something to eat and I was pulled away on each side of the table into a conversation!
Next thing I know it had been an hour and a half and I couldn’t find the place where I left my food and wine an hour ago. But then it was time for presents! I found my wine and brought it over to where I was sitting… I guess I’ll eat later I thought.
I sit down and it is a little nerve-wracking having everyone there staring at you. We had about 15 guests, so it wasn’t a huge crowd, but it still felt like a lot of people. My mom handed out a game to play while I opened presents. My MOH got busy writing down my gifts while my bridesmaids were getting ride of wrapping paper and making my lovely bow hat. Do you think it suits me?
It actually matched my dress in an odd coincidence.
I also got an apron with my new life motto:
It wasn’t until the gifts were opened that I finally got a chance just to catch up with my girls, enjoy some wine, and actually eat something!
My MOH wasn’t kidding when she said it is hectic! I feel like it started and I was in a whirlwind! I didn’t even register what I got until later when I got to sit down and organize everything!
Then of course I was all riled up so I couldn’t sleep last night. Go figure. At least I got a cute picture with Chase afterwards.
Looking back now, I can’t believe how generous everyone was. I reviewed my registry and can’t believe that so many of my guests went above and beyond to give me a really nice, quality item. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to be surrounded by so many women in my life who literally showered me with such amazing gifts. I am so thankful for what I received and can’t wait to use each and every thing.
My kitchen is definitely going to be getting an upgrade, and I can’t wait to show you my new goodies as time goes on!
It really was a fun day and I can’t wait until the big celebration next month =)
