A classic drink is kicked up a notch in this Nutella Hot Chocolate! It’s super easy to put together and is made with only 2 ingredients!
Could hot chocolate really get any more decadent?
A few weeks ago when I was in Ireland, Matt and I walked by a cafe that advertised a 100% Belgian Chocolate Hot Chocolate. Of course that was enough to draw me in and I ordered one of the most fabulous hot chocolates I’ve ever had. I swear this thing was half melted chocolate and half milk, but it was amazing. Smooth, creamy and ultra-rich, it made my tastebuds pop!
When I came back to the states I knew I wanted to try to recreate this majesty, but this time, with Nutella. And goodness is it amazing.
It’s nice and warm and smooth. Decadent without being overpowering, it is a really great sweet-treat to warm you up in the cold weather.
And for me? I like making it extra hot. Just like any liquid based food or drink (ie coffee, soup, hot chocolate) I really like to have it be very hot. Hot where it almost burns your tongue but not quite. I just hate cold food and if you start out with lukewarm anything, by the time you get to the end it is cold! To me, a lukewarm hot chocolate isn’t worth having! My boyfriend on the other hand likes everything much cooler than I do. He will sit there for a few minutes for it to cool while I dig in as fast as I can!
No thanks for me! I’ll be keeping my hot chocolate hot!
