Holiday cocktails have never been easier than with these quick Sherbert Spritzers. Just three ingredients and less than five minutes is all you need to put together this sweet treat!
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…
Ok, sorry, I can’t help it. Thanksgiving will soon be over which means that it is officially time to start celebrating Christmas!
I just can’t start celebrating Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. Afterall, Thanksgiving is a great holiday which deserves a ton of recognition. What better holiday than one whose main event is food?!
But once my Christmas tree is up and a holiday music station has been preset on my radio, I am officially ready to start bringing in the season.
The holidays are a great time to reminisce with family and participate in all of those fun holiday traditions. One tradition we have in my family is making these Sherbert Spritzers.
Every Christmas Eve we trek over to my aunt’s house to spend the evening with my mom’s side of the family. As my grandmother was born in Germany, we have a traditional German meal for Christmas Eve. The meal is always the same: beef rouladen in thin gravy, potato “Kloß”, and braised red cabbage. The tender beef pairs perfectly with the thin brown gravy which just soaks into the potato Kloß.
And to drink? This not so German, but totally special, Sherbert Spritzer.
Champagne, ginger ale, and sherbert combine to make this delicious, sweet cocktail! One great ginger ale that I love to use is the new Canada Dry TEN®. It has all the classic taste of ginger ale but for only 10 calories! You can get Canada Dry TEN® at my favorite store, Target =) Love Target.
In addition to being sweet and bubbly, this cocktail is also super simple to put together! Just three ingredients and three steps separate you from being the cocktail MVP at your next holiday party.
First, drop a scoop of sherbert into each serving glass. Tip: I like to stick to just one or two colors per scoop because I find that if you combine multiple sherbert colors in one scoop, the cocktail tends to turn a yucky brown like color.
Next, fill the glass halfway with Canada Dry TEN®.
Finally, top it off with your favorite champagne! I personally like a dry champagne but it is totally up to you!
And bam! It is complete!
Look at how pretty it is!
The bubbly champagne, the crisp soda, and the fruity sherbert make this drink a must at your next get-together. It has been a classic in my family and one that we make religiously every year as we sit, enjoy dinner, and open a few Christmas presents. It has definitely become a part of my family’s tradition!
I hope you love this cocktail as much as we all do!
